Colin Cowherd Mocks Celtics After Shocking Game 2 Loss: 'Nobody Fears Them'

Colin Cowherd: “This is starting to become a regular thing – the Celtics lost at home again in the playoffs. They are 6-7 at home the last two years. For all of you who push back on my questions about the Celtics, ask yourself this: name the last great NBA champion that was bad at home in the playoffs? Miami got absurdly hot, an all-time playoff-shooting night, but this is sort of a theme now... This ‘great’ Celtics team loses a home playoff game, and/or Jayson Tatum shrinks late in games. One of those two things happen, sometimes both, with regularity.
Here’s the thing with the Celtics being totally honest – there's nothing to fear about the Celtics. MJ and the Bulls’ physicality was intimidating. Kobe and Shaq coming downhill was intimidating. The blizzard of talent of the Miami Heat with LeBron and D-Wade in their prime was intimidating. Steph, KD, and Klay embarrassing you with an onslaught on threes and blowing you out in the playoffs. ‘FEAR’. The Celtics? ‘WELL, THEY’RE DEEP!’... Nobody fears the Celtics. No one is afraid to go into the Garden, certainly not Miami. I would argue that Miami creates fear. Nobody wants to play Miami in the playoffs, and Jimmy Butler is trolling the Celtics on Instagram after last night. You don’t troll Mike Tyson in his prime, and if all these NBA teams were heavyweight fighters the Celtics feel more like Larry Holmes than Tyson. They’ll jab you, but the knockout punches? Not that memorable.
Fear is supposed to be a real thing with great teams. Who fears the Celtics? They’re not even good at home. We overvalue teams from weaker conferences who bully-ball teams all regular season. Does anybody fear the Celtics? And what would you fear about them? They’re ‘deep’? You generally fear a relentless player, Jokic – an unstoppable player. Efficiency, maniacal, tough, physical... What do you fear about the Celtics? They’ve got ‘talent’, but it’s the NBA – so does OKC, so does Minnesota."

Watch Colin Cowherd of FS1’s The Herd blast the Boston Celtics after their shocking home loss to the massive underdog Miami Heat on Wednesday night, with Colin saying there’s literally nothing to fear about Boston despite them boasting the NBA’s best record.

Check out the segment above as Colin details how overstated Boston’s supremacy was, saying they simply looked good dominating a bad Eastern Conference all season.
