Dan Beyer and Monse Bolaños are in for Doug Gottlieb on this Memorial Day! The two react to a recent quote from Aaron Rodgers, where he seemingly teased the Pittsburgh Steelers as his future team. With the report from Jeremy Fowler that Kirk Cousins is Pittsburgh's "Plan B" in the case they don't land Rodgers, Dan and Monse question whether there's really any plan here at all.
Dan Beyer: "I look at the Steelers as a proud organization that's won Super Bowls. Why are you settling for being dictated by Rodgers?... And what bothers me even more about this whole thing is that [their Plan B is to go get Kirk Cousins]... That's not a Plan B, that's just a bad idea! If you want to make a plan, have Mason Rudolph or Will Howard start for you this year, be bad, and then draft a quarterback in the top 10 next year. That's way more of a plan than waiting for Kirk Cousins, who [was terrible for Atlanta last year] and is coming off an Achilles injury!... Having Kirk Cousins as a backup plan is the same as having no plan at all in Pittsburgh."
Monse Bolaños: "I'm just surprised the Steelers are even willing to go through this. Rodgers signing with you doesn't give you some bump where you're gonna win the division; you're not winning the division with or without him! You're not waiting for Tom Brady or Patrick Mahomes, you're waiting for someone who's going to get you through the season, and maybe stay above .500."
