A number of cheeses and dairy products have been recalled nationwide due to an ongoing Listeria outbreak affecting a number of brands. The company,Ā Rizo-LĆ³pez Foods, says their dairy products may be connected to Listeria-related illnesses in at least 11 states.Ā
Two deaths have been reported in connection with the outbreak and more than 23 people have been hospitalized.Ā
The recall comes just days away from Super Bowl Sunday, whichĀ is known for being the game day with the most food borne illnesses and food poisoning issues. The Food and Drug Administration recommends checking your ingredients to ensure the components of your game day buffet aren't included in the recall.
