TUCSON, Ariz. – The Fresno State volleyball team kicks off the 2025 season at the Wildcat Classic hosted by Arizona in Tucson this weekend, beginning on Friday.

Fresno State will face Texas A&M Corpus Christi, Alabama State and Arizona in the four-team tournament in the McKale Center on Arizona's campus.

ALL EYES ON ADDI

Fresno State volleyball senior Addison Haluska has been named Mountain West Preseason Player of the Year, the conference announced last week.

Last season, Haluska led the Bulldogs to a 16-14 overall record and a 12-6 mark in league play.

The opposite hitter totaled 463 kills and finished the 2024 season with a .228 hitting percentage.

She also recorded 219 digs, five solo blocks and 58 block assists. Haluska was the only Bulldog named to the Preseason All-Mountain West Team.

NEW YEAR, NEW DOGS

The Fresno State roster is split evenly between newcomers and returners, eight and eight.

Six of the athletes on the Bulldog roster are incoming freshmen: Madison Pulsipher, Clara Garcia, Michon Sailors, Brooklyn Washington, Lalelei Hall and Addison Williams.

The Bulldog squad got one transfer this season, Olivia Lombardi, a transfer from Iowa, who will join her sister Gabby on the Fresno State roster.

Peyton Bitter, a Fresno State track and field athlete, will be joining the Bulldog roster as an outside hitter for the 2025 campaign.

THE VOTES ARE IN

Fresno State was picked to finish fourth in the 2025 MW Preseason Poll with 86 points, as voted on by the league's 12 head coaches.

This is Fresno State's second straight season being selected to finish fourth in the conference Preseason Poll.

Utah State was selected as the preseason favorite with 114 points and seven first-place votes.

ONE LAST RIDE

2025 will mark Fresno State Volleyball's final season as part of the Mountain West as the Bulldogs will be headed to the Pac-12 in 2026.

Fresno State will be joined by Mountain West opponents Utah State, Boise State, Colorado State and San Diego State.

The new Pac-12 will also include Gonzaga, Washington State, Texas State and Oregon State.

TEAM CAPTAINS

Fresno State volleyball Head Coach Leisa Rosen has announced that Addison Haluska and Jenna Legault will serve as the team's captains for the 2025 season.

"The impact Addi makes physically is imperative to our success, but what is equally as important is the connections she has created with each person in this program," Rosen said of Haluska. "She has developed a very strong connection with every player on our roster - and that is impressive."

Haluska has amassed over 1,000 kills and over 200 total blocks for the Bulldogs in her three seasons on the squad.

"The growth - both physically and mentally - that Jenna has demonstrated during this past spring will allow her to lead in a very authentic and genuine manner," Rosen boasted of Legault. "I'm looking forward to her personality and competitive nature driving the progress of our program forward."

Legault has been a standout for the Bulldogs in her two seasons on the court after redshirting in 2022.

With over 500 kills and 89 total blocks accumulated, she has been a difference-maker for the team.
