NEW YORK - Fresno State senior center Jacob Spomer has been added to the preseason watch list for the Rimington Trophy, announced by the committee on Friday morning. Spomer is one of 40 centers from around the country on the preseason watch list, and one of two from the Mountain West.
Spomer will compete in his first season as the Bulldogs' center in 2025, but has valuable experience on the offensive line to lead the crew. The senior made the move from tackle to center this offseason. He returns in 2025 with the most career starts on the Bulldog roster, totaling 28 in his three seasons despite a season-ending injury in 2023 that also sidelined him for a majority of 2024.
Formerly at left tackle, Spomer has started all but one game that he has been active for in his Bulldog career. He is a two-time All-Mountain West honorable mention selection, and earned preseason honors by Athlon Sports and Phil Steele so far in 2025.
