FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State softball head coach Charlotte Morgan has announced the addition of former Bulldog Kelcey Carrasco to her staff as an assistant coach.
"Kelcey completes our coaching staff," said Morgan. "I wanted someone who understands what it means to be a Fresno State Bulldog and knows how to win. She was part of our 2021 team—the last to reach the postseason—and brings that experience with her. We want our program to represent the Valley, and Kelcey's heart and soul are rooted here. I'm thrilled to have her on staff. She'll work primarily with our catchers and will also contribute to both our offense and defense."
Before joining the Bulldogs' staff, Carrasco served as head coach of the Cen Cal Dirtdogs from 2022 to 2025. She also spent the 2022-23 season as an assistant coach at Fresno City College, helping lead the Rams to a CVC Championship while being named part of the CVC Coaching Staff of the Year.
A Woodlake, Calif. native, Carrasco began her collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant at Southern Indiana during the 2021-22 season. In her first year with the Screaming Eagles, she was part of a staff that earned NFCA Midwest Region Coaching Staff of the Year honors alongside head coach Sue Kunkle and assistants MacKenzi Dorsam and Emily Goodin. That season, the team won the GLVC regular-season and tournament championships and captured the NCAA Division II Midwest Region title.
Carrasco played three seasons at Fresno State (2019–21), hitting .329 with six home runs and 26 RBIs as a senior. She started 27 games before a season-ending injury, but her performance helped propel the Bulldogs to the 2021 Mountain West title.
She began her collegiate playing career at Michigan State, where she spent two seasons. In 110 games with the Spartans, she posted a .310 batting average with 17 home runs, 73 RBIs, a .521 slugging percentage, and a .363 on-base percentage. She earned NFCA All-Region Second Team honors as a freshman.
Carrasco is also the founder of KC Athletics, a softball training facility she launched in 2018 and continues to operate today.
