WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Fresno State senior kicker Dylan Lynch has been placed on the preseason watch list for the Lou Groza Award, announced by the Palm Beach County Sports Commission on Friday morning. Lynch is one of 30 placekickers on the watch list, and the only representative from the Mountain West.
The Bakersfield native sees himself back on the watch list for the second straight year. He was also a semifinalist for the award in 2023.
In three years, Lynch has climbed the Bulldog football leaderboards and set records while doing it. The senior Bulldog is 43-of-57 in his field goal attempts and 93-of-94 in PATs. With 222 career points, he is No. 13 on the program's all-time scoring list. His 43 field goals are fifth all-time, while his 93 career PATs are seventh.
Last season, Lynch was 13-of-20 in his field goal attempts with a long of 48 yards twice. His best season to date was his semifinalist season in 2023 when he went 24-of-30 on field goals and 40-of-40 in his PAT attempts. His 112 points that season are the third-most in a season in program history. His 24 field goals made that season are the fourth-most in a season in Mountain West history, and second-most in Fresno State history. He had multiple 50-yarders that season, becoming the first Bulldog since 2010 to send more than one through the uprights from 50 yards out in a season.
Lynch enters 2025 in the Top 10 among active FBS kickers in career field goals from 30-or-longer and 40-or-longer.
