FRESNO, Calif. – At the midway point of the Major League Baseball season, five former Diamond 'Dogs are representing Fresno State in the MLB in Aaron Judge (New York Yankees), Taylor Ward (Los Angeles Angels), Austin Wynns (Athletics), Dylan Lee (Atlanta Braves) and Justin Wilson (Boston Red Sox).
AARON JUDGE, NEW YORK YANKEES
Former Bulldog Aaron Judge has continued to be a standout in the MLB in his 10th season with the New York Yankees. In 2025, Judge has played 96 games for the Yankees and racked up 125 hits, including 24 doubles, two triples and 35 home runs, the second most in the MLB this season. At .355, Judge owns the best batting average in the MLB while also boasting a .462 on-base percentage and a .733 slugging percentage. He has recorded 81 RBIs, just one shy of the MLB leader, Cal Raleigh of the Seattle Mariners.
Judge has reached the 350-career home run milestone, becoming the fastest player in MLB history to do so by achieving it in just 1,088 games. He was selected to be a starter in the 2025 MLB All-Star game hosted in Atlanta, Georgia, with a whopping 4,012,983 votes to lead the MLB.
TAYLOR WARD, LOS ANGELES ANGELS
Taylor Ward has been a standout performer for the Angels, anchoring the middle of their lineup. In 94 games, he's slashing .224/.297/.468 with 21 home runs and 65 RBIs, ranking among the team's leaders in both power categories. Over the past 15 games, he's hitting .333 with eight extra-base hits and 10 RBIs.
He's delivered several clutch moments this season, including a game-winning two-run double off Yankees closer Clay Holmes in late May and a go-ahead RBI single in extra innings against the Dodgers.
AUSTIN WYNNS, ATHLETICS
Catcher Austin Wynns began the season with the Cincinnati Reds and has since been picked up by the Athletics. He has appeared in 36 games this season, 18 games per club, and has accumulated 26 hits and six home runs in that time. He averages .292 at the plate with an on-base percentage of .326 and slugging percentage of .562.
During his stint with the Reds in April, he recorded a historic six-hit game, including a three-run homer, in Cincinnati's 24–2 rout of Baltimore, making him only the fifth player in Reds history to go 6-for-6 in a game. After being acquired by the Athletics for cash considerations, he has continued delivering, including a two‑run homer on July 13 with an impressive 103.6 mph exit velocity and 387-foot launch.
DYLAN LEE, ATLANTA BRACES
Dylan Lee is in his fifth season in the Braves organization and has posted a 2.55 ERA in 44 appearances and 42.1 innings pitched in 2025. Batters are held to a .195 average against Wynns, and he has struck out 45 total batters while allowing only 10 walks, giving him an impressive 27.8% strikeout rate, well above league average.
JUSTIN WILSON, BOSTON RED SOX
In 29 innings across 37 games, Justin Wilson posted a 2.48 ERA, a 1.41 WHIP, and struck out 34 batters. Wilson is in his 13th season in the MLB and owns a 3.55 ERA in 624 appearances and over 500 innings pitched.
Wilson is the last active member of Fresno State's legendary 2008 "Wonderdog" College World Series championship team. Among his teammates who reached the majors, he's the only one still playing as of 2025.
