Bulldogs add international talent for 2025-26

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State men's basketball head coach Vance Walberg announced the signing of 6-foot-4 guard Aram Soqui to the roster on Wednesday. Soqui is a native of Rosarito, Mexico but joins the Bulldogs after a prep career at Veritas Academy in Ontario, Calif.

"We are excited about Aram," said Walberg on the newest signee. "He proved himself to be an elite shooter in the EYBL last season. He has a great feel and instincts for the game."

Fresno State added a sharp shooter to the roster as Soqui was second in the EYBL Scholastic league in three-point shooting with a 47 percent clip. He averaged 3.2 3-point baskets per game, a league-leading mark in the 2024-25 season. Soqui was shooting at a high clip against the best high school competition in the country with the EYBL.

Soqui was one of 64 boys selected to participate in the 2022 NBA Basketball Without Borders camp, hosted by the NBA and the International Basketball Federation (FIBA). He also represented Mexico at the 2021 FIBA U16 Americas Championship, 2021 Centrobasket U17 Championship, and the 2022 FIBA U18 Americas Championship.
