COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Fresno State baseball team had four players selected for the All-Mountain West First team and two earning top individual honors.
Aidan Cremarosa was recognized as the Mountain West Pitcher of the Year, while Murf Gray shared the Tony Gwynn Player of the Year award with UNLV's Dean Toigo.
Joining Cremarosa and Gray on the All-MW First Team are starting pitcher Jack Anker and catcher Justin Stransky
The 2025 season marks the first time a Bulldog has earned Player and Pitcher of the Year honors since 2019, and the third time a Bulldog has received each award.
This marks Murf Gray's second top conference honor; he was previously named Mountain West Freshman of the Year after his standout rookie season in 2023.
AIDAN CREMAROSA – MW PITCHER OF THE YEAR, ALL-MW FIRST TEAM
Cremarosa owns the league's lowest ERA of 3.13 and punched out 72 batters in MW play.
The Burbank native pitched in 63.1 innings, allowing only 22 earned runs and holding opposing batters to a .219 average.
He pitched his first career complete game against San Jose State on May 10, pitching 7.0 shutout innings and allowing only two hits.
MURF GRAY – TONY GWYNN PLAYER OF THE YEAR, ALL-MW FIRST TEAM
Gray, a junior out of Madera South High School, has been a star for the Bulldogs for three straight seasons as the starting third baseman, earning Mountain West Freshman of the Year in 2023.
In 2025, Gray dominated at the plate with a .380 batting average, .783 slugging percentage and .427 on-base percentage in MW games.
He has totaled 13 doubles and 13 home runs against MW opponents in 2025.
Prior to the 2025 season, Gray was named to the 2025 Perfect Game Pre-Season All-American second team.
Gray spent last summer in the Cape Cod League as the third baseman for the Wareham Gatemen and was named the sixth-best prospect in the league by Baseball America. In his time "Guarding the Gate" in Wareham, Gray started in 31 games at third base, and four as the designated hitter.
Gray led the Gatemen in six stat categories: batting average (.329), at-bats (140), home runs (5), runs batted in (27), doubles (9) and hits (46).
JACK ANKER – ALL-MW FIRST TEAM
Anker was the first pitcher in the conference to reach 100 strikeouts, earning the feat against his last batter faced in the regular season.
In MW games, the Tulare native had a 6-2 record and 6.35 ERA in 10 appearances.
He struck out 74 batters in 59.2 innings pitched against conference foes and walked only nine batters.
Jack Anker had a career outing on April 12 at San Diego State, striking out 16 batters in a career-high 8.0 shutout innings.
He threw 102 pitches against the Aztecs and allowed only one walk and two hits.
The lights-put performance gave Anker national attention, earning MW Pitcher of the Week, Golden Spikes Player of the Week, National College Baseball Writers Association Pitcher of the Week and Perfect Game Pitcher of the Week.
JUSTIN STRANSKY – ALL-MW FIRST TEAM
Stransky closed out the regular season with a .326 batting average, appearing in all 55 games for the Bulldogs this season.
Of his 70 hits, he was credited with eight doubles, a pair of triples and 12 home runs.
On the bases, the backstop had 10 successful stolen base attempts out of 13.
The Washington native demonstrated exceptional defensive skills behind the plate, committing just two errors out of 487 total fielding opportunities, resulting in an impressive .996 fielding percentage.
He allowed only two stolen bases while successfully catching 17 out of 19 attempted base stealers.
The Wichita Sports Commission announced on May 19 that the semifinalists for the 2025 Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award, including Fresno State catcher Justin Stransky.
This year, 92 catchers from 27 conferences were nominated during the nomination process. Of those 92 catchers, a list of 13 semifinalists were chosen to be a semifinalist.
Three finalists who are chosen will be invited to Wichita to take part in the Buster Posey Award Ceremony that is part of the Greater Wichita Sports Banquet on Thursday, June 26.
