HOUSTON - Fresno State swim and dive team began the 2025 Credit Union Mountain West Championships on a high note breaking the 200 Medley relay in finals. Fresno State sits in fifth with 142 points after day one.
In her first appearance at conference championships, Natalia Bedolla qualified into the 1-meter springboard finals, taking seventh.
How it happened
Divers started the weekend off with the 1-meter springboard. Parker Connor got her first taste of conference championship action. The freshmen placed two spots outside of consolation contention at 18th. Grace Ally slid easily into the consolation round with a 12th place prelims finish. Ally took fifth in consolations with a score of 266.95.
In her first championship appearance Natalia Bedolla qualified third into the championship finals. Bedolla closed the preliminary session with a score of 297.85 with a 14.7 diving difficulty. Bedolla dove smoothly in finals for seventh place with a score of 287.00.
Fresno State A relay got off to a hot start breaking the program record in the 200 medley with a time of 1:38.64. Sienna Cheng-Lucey, Aliz Kalmar, Julia Matney and Jenna Pulkkinen break the record that stood from the 2019 MW conference championships by 1.5 seconds.
The 800 freestyle relay closed out a strong opening day for the Bulldogs with a win in heat one, good for 7th overall.
