COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Fresno State's Ceonna Pipion was tabbed Mountain West Track Athlete of the Week. It is the third time she has earned the weekly honor in her career, and second indoors.
This past weekend, Pipon set two records at the Don Kirby Invitational. In the invitational sectional of the 400 meters, the senior won her fourth straight race this season in the event with a time of 52.29. It broke her school record of 52.90 which she set at the 2024 Mountain West Indoor Championships. Her new record is also the third-fastest time in conference history.
The Folsom, Calif. product also ran the second leg on the Bulldogs 4x400 relay which broke the Fresno State record which had stood since 2016. The time of 3:36.47 was just over a second-and-a-half faster than the previous mark. It ranks as the sixth-fastest time in conference history.
