Kershaw came into Wednesday night's elimination game in relief with the Dodgers clinging to a 3-1 lead over the Washington Nationals. After striking out Washington outfielder Adam Eaton, Kershaw would then allow back-to-back home runs on consecutive pitches to Nationals stars Anthony Rendon and Juan Soto.
Howie Kendrick would later hit a grand slam in the top of the 10th to effectively end the 106-win Dodgers season.
The gag followed an extended string of postseason letdowns from Kershaw, who shockingly has a bloated career postseason ERA of 4.43 in 158.1 playoff innings, despite posting a dominant 2.44 ERA for his career during the regular season.
Kershaw is a three-time Cy Young winner who became just the tenth pitcher in league history to win the MVP in 2014.
However, Wednesday’s collapse has Rob and Chris wondering if Kershaw is the biggest choke artist in sports history as an athlete whose name has become synonymous with coming up the smallest on the biggest stages.
